FROM THE ARTIST:

“In the process of cutting up trees, I am always awestruck by the excellent grain, rays, figure, spalting, quilting, colors and basic attractiveness identified inside the wood. I flip these bowls myself, either from the green logs (which are then seasoned) or usually from logs that I have ‘planked’ and left to season below the overhang.

I always attempt to lower away the components of the wood that are not the bowl and what is left over is often spectacular! Then I sand out most of the instrument-marks and finish with both a food-risk-free oil and wax finish, or a semi-glossy shelac, depending on the intended use of the piece. Then I indicator and date every single piece and offer you it for sale to you. I hope that you take pleasure in them, I confident enjoy making them!”

TimberSong’s Store Announcement:

“A single hundred thousand welcomes to my store: TimberSong!

I really like the song developed by my lathe when there is timber turning on it, making beneficial, lovely items.

The wood I use is never felled just to turn bowls. At times it is offered to me by other folks. Sometimes it cracks and falls down in the wind. At times it is in danger of hurting people or residence and demands to come down for security. The leftovers are constantly utilized to help in the heating of our residence.

I mill the log into planks or boards and reduce out the bowl blanks, then I mount the blank onto my lathe and hand-flip them into stunning, beneficial reminders of the peace of the wilderness and the quiet of the forest.

I do customized work also, so if you have questions, please inquire.”
