Bob’s House Recording Studio

Though I started taking part in trombone in 1963 and guitars in 1968, I didn’t get started performing any personalized home recording until finally 1994. Like several, I started with a (Yamaha) four-Track Multi-track Cassette Tape primarily based unit, moved to a (Yamaha) 8-Track Cassette Tape based unit, then to a (Yamaha AW16) Digital 16-Track unit and now making use of a Computer based DAW program using the Yamaha n12 Digital Firewire mixer and Cubase four.five.
My present set-up can be witnessed on the photo below!

It has taken me 18 years to buy a piece right here and a piece there to get to in which the studio is today on prime of being so lucky to have won a piece or 2 in the wonderful contests that so a lot of merchants and other individuals have on a reasonably typical basis. (A list of Recording Tools on this desk is in a module under.)

A single of the numerous items that I have realized is that minimal-expense DIY tasks have aided me save income in this approach.
For instance, I developed and built the desk that this gear is sitting on for only $50.
There is much more data beneath about it and the obtainable create plans.

Some of the most high-priced “New” Recording Studio Microphones can expense nicely more than $ten,000.00.
Even so, some older and employed Recording Microphones that are regarded as the “extremely ideal ever created” can value $20,000.00 and $30,000.00!
Incredible but true!
Of program, none of my Studio Microphones expense anyplace near that sum but they are very great nonetheless.
The “Condensor ” sort of Studio Microphones are used most often in Professional-Recording circumstances though “Ribbon” Microphones have been utilized for decades as have “Dynamic” Microphones.
All but 3 microphones shown here are Condensor Microphones with one particular currently being a “Ribbon” Mic and 2 are Dynamic Mics.
The “Ribbon” Mic is sitting back to the left and has the horizontal silver grille sections.
Where most of my Condensor Mics use Reliable State Electronics to operate, the big microphone in the back left is a microphone that makes use of a vacuum tube as its major component.

Right here is a photo of the desk I designed and created quickly following the construction, assembly, and painting was finished.
It is comprised of 2X6’s, 2X4’s, 2X2’s, 1X2’s, wood screws, two-glued panels (for desktop and check shelf), a couple of nails and other misc. objects.
The frame parts can be assembled and then attached to each and every other and simply moved to the area where the desk will reside.

I now promote create programs for this desk for $five.99 on my homestudioguy.com site!
The most latest construct strategy purchasers have been from Australia, Canada, The Netherlands, the United Kingdom and all across the United States.

The photograph of yet another DIY Undertaking I made and created is on the photo beneath!

This multi-piece DIY Task was produced with a $fifty five box of Auralex Wedgies, 3-2ft X 4ft pegboard panels, some fundamental lumber, nails and screws.
All informed, this 3-panel undertaking was completed for around $100 AND I have enough Auralex Wedgies left over for yet another panel if essential.
