Halloween Craft Ideas for Children – Halloween Crafts

There are several crafts that can simply be made with waste material lying around in the house while some might require a trip to a nearby hardware or home improvement store.

You can even adapt some difficult Halloween crafts into easy ones. You can make a cute little pumpkin wreath by cutting little pumpkins from some orange construction paper and using a black marker to draw scary faces on them. Then cut out the center circle off a paper plate and clue the pumpkins around its edges. Punch a hole at the top, pull a hole through it and hang.

The fingers become the bottom of the ghost making it look like a torn up sheet and is just too cute to be too scary.

Consider always the safety of your child when buying materials for child Halloween crafts. When using glitter don’t buy the regular ones used for paper. These can be abrasive to both the skin and eyes and therefore can cause inflammation and reddening. Go to a specialty or makeup store instead and look for products that state “body glitter” or “face glitter”.

Since the basic theme of Halloween is ghosts, vampires, and zombies, among other frightening creatures, your kids can start out by making bat masks, spider cups, ghost masks and gowns, while also making pumpkin faces from several look-alike materials.

Make your own blood. It is less expensive than buying ready made blood from the Halloween shops. It’s not difficult; all you need is Karo syrup and food coloring. While you’re at it, why not make some slime using glue, water and borax powder. This is an advanced Hallween craft, so take your time and be careful.

Creating craft ideas with kids

Sock skeleton is one of my favorite craft ideas! You can transform a white sock into a cute and cuddly skeleton with the use of some thread and buttons for eyes. If you are someone who likes to sew, this is the perfect Halloween craft! This is also a great craft for kids because they get to keep the soft skeleton all year-long.
